I Teach English Good

Summer school has drawn to a close and my students gave me a thank you card on the last day. Here are some of my favorite excerpts from it. I have written them as they appear in my card followed by some personal comments and reflections.

"OMG. Wow you've been the best and youngest teacher I've ever had Mr. Substitute. Thanks for everything because of your outgoing way of teaching I actually enjoyed doing most of the things like reading I had never read that much in my life. This summer school year was the best. Much [heart], L.B."
OMG, Thank you! G2G!

"Mr. Substitute I just want to thank you for make our summer school class so fun. Like we were in vacation and also thank you for all your patientice with us. I have learnd so much in your class. - C.A."
I'm glad you "learnd" so much and you appreciate my "patientice!"

"Mr. Substitute, you were the best teacher I've had. For the first time in my highshool year, I didn't feel like skipping class. You made English very easy. Thanks for everything. - F.A."
Aah, I remember "highshool."

"G.D. ur class rocks dude?"
I guess we didn't have enough time to go over the difference between a question mark and an exclamation mark.

"Waddup Mr. Substitute!!! Its been great having you as a teacher man. Its been a great summer with you too. Well hope you with the best of luck. Your a tight ass teacher man Remember that... Your boie W.P."
How could I forget my boies?!

"Save by the Substitute! Mr. Substitute you r the best teacher in summer skol! Have a great rest of summer. E.B."
Aah, I remember "skol."

"Hey Substitute, it was grt having you as my teacher you were great, am gonna miss you alot. Your the best teacher eva! Have a wonderful summa Save by the Substitute!! - R.A."
I hope you have a "grt summa," too.

All jokes aside, I love these kids and I will miss them, including their zany grammar and spelling errors. :P
